Pastor Maurice Thompson is a native New Yorker having been born and raised in the borough Of Brooklyn. Maurice was instilled by his mother to always seek betterment and be goal oriented. She emphasized to him that to be successful in life he had to have a personal relationship with God and a good education. Maurice graduated from high school and later enlisted in the US army reserves. He served six years and left with an honorable discharge.
Maurice has held varied employment positions with the NYC Board of Elections, NYC Board of Education, and the Brooklyn Law School.
Pastor Thompson has always had a burden for helping men become the best version of themselves, God gave Pastor Thompson the vision for Men in the Gap, Inc and partnered with best friend Elder Lucius McBride and made the vision a reality when it was incorporated and later receive 501C3 status in 2004.
In 2022 Pastor Thompson was lead of the Lord to join New Wave Ministry under Apostle Rubin Mitchell and Lady Dominique Mitchell as his covering where he was officially ordained as pastor of Truth and Life Ministries. With the agreement of Apostle Mitchell, Pastor Thompson also became part of the spiritual guiding of Bishop Richard Hartley and Lady Stacey Hartley of Haven International Ministries along with Executive pastor Judea Hartley.
